U.S. President Donald Trump has decided to lower the refugee acceptance limit to 18 thousand people in fiscal year 2020, which began on October 1. This was reported in the distribution on the eve of the White House press service at the disposal of the American president.
“The admission of no more than 18 thousand refugees to the United States in fiscal year 2020 is justified from a humanitarian point of view and is in the national interest,” the document says.
In fiscal 2019, this limit was 30 thousand people. Thus, the reception of refugees is almost halved.
