The Chinese side will not be particularly upset if the United States does not send a high-ranking delegation to the international import EXPO in Shanghai, it is important for Beijing that American companies are actively participating in the exhibition, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at a briefing on Friday.
“With regard to the US statements that they will not be able to send a high-level delegation to participate in the EXPO, it can be noted that we welcome if they come, but if they do not, then there is nothing wrong with that”, – the diplomat said.
He noted that 192 companies from the USA will take part in the exhibition of imported goods in Shanghai, which is 18% more than last year.
“This once again suggests that American companies highly value the potential of the Chinese market and the economic potential of the country, they want to continue investing in China, deepen cooperation with the Chinese side, and trade with China”, – the agency’s representative added.
