In Lugansk arrived convoy of EMERCOM of Russia with humanitarian aid

A convoy of Russian Emergencies Ministry with humanitarian aid for residents of the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic arrived in Lugansk.

This was told in the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies of the LPR to RIA Novosti.

“Cars of the 89th humanitarian convoy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry arrived in Lugansk”, –  the press service said.

According to the agency, humanitarian aid vehicles delivered more than 129.6 tons of baby food sets to Lugansk.

Humanitarian aid to the residents of Donbass has been delivered since August 2014. During this period, more than 80 convoys of the Ministry of Emergencies of the Russian Federation brought about 80 thousand tons of humanitarian cargo to the territory of southeastern Ukraine.

In April 2014, the Ukrainian authorities launched a military operation against the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, which declared independence after the coup in Ukraine in February 2014. According to the latest UN data, about 13 thousand people became victims of the conflict.

The issue of resolving the situation in the Donbass is being discussed, including during the meetings of the contact group in Minsk, which, since September 2014, has already adopted three documents regulating steps to de-escalate the conflict. However, even after armistice agreements between the parties to the conflict, skirmishes continue.
