About 900 US military may remain in Syria after the withdrawal of troops

After the withdrawal of American troops in Syria, about 900 military may remain, according to The New York Times.

According to the publication, as of this week, at least half of the original 1,000 US troops have left Syria and another part will continue to leave the country. Thus, there will remain about 250 people from the original group, mainly around the province of Deir ez-Zor in the South.
In the meantime, the first several hundred infantry troops had already arrived in Syria from Iraq, which would soon be joined by the “Bradley” fighting vehicles and, possibly, several tanks for the protection of oil fields. Representatives of the Ministry of Defense said that the total number of such troops will be about 500 people.
If we take into account the troops from the Al Tanf, zone, then, in total, about 900 military personnel will remain in the country, as the publication emphasizes.
Their number can easily grow if the ISIS begins to revive in Syria, the newspaper adds.
