Taliban attack in Afghanistan kills five security forces

Five employees of the Afghan security forces died as a result of the Taliban attack, eight more security forces were captured by militants, Ariana News reported.

Councilor of the north-eastern Afghan province of Kunduz Amrudin Vali told the channel that the Taliban had attacked a security checkpoint in Khan Abad County late Tuesday night. According to him, clashes between government forces and the Taliban continued for several hours.

In Afghanistan, there is a confrontation between government forces and the militants of the radical Taliban movement, which had previously captured a significant territory in rural areas of the country and launched an attack on large cities. The influence of the Islamic State (ISIS)* terrorist group has intensified throughout the country. Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are conducting joint counter-terrorism operations across the country.
