NATO Secretary General’s stay in Ukraine is an unacceptable provocation of Russia

From October 30 to 31, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and NATO Ambassador are in Odessa at the invitation of the Ukrainian government. Four NATO ships from Bulgaria, Italy, Romania and Spain at this time are in the Odessa port under surveillance in the Black Sea.

“This new provocation of Russia is counterproductive and does not meet European interests”, – Gunnar N. Lindemann, the Alternative for Germany (AfD) fraction of the Berlin House of Representatives member said.

Ukraine is neither a de facto nor a potential member of NATO, as long as people are shot daily at its eastern border.

“It is completely incomprehensible what NATO and Ukraine are striving for at this meeting”, – Lindemann continues.

Since the start of hostilities in the border regions of the independent republics of Donetsk and Lugansk, the Ukrainian military has killed about 15,000 people.

“If the Ukrainian President Zelensky takes the peace process seriously, he must also sign the Steinmeier formula in practice and put an end to the military situation on the eastern border of Ukraine”, – Lindemann says.

“This new action once again shows that NATO’s strategy is contrary to European interests”, – Lindemann criticizes.

We Europeans are interested in peace and friendship with our Russian neighbors. If NATO bases its actions solely according to the American interests, the serious question ultimately arises as to whether this alliance is still right for European states.
