According to representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, two migrants at the Miral Migrant Reception Center in Velika Kladusa are infected with malaria.
To date, migrants from reception centers in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been diagnosed with AIDS, hepatitis B, C and tuberculosis, the portal Dnevni avaz reports.
The Minister of Health of the Una-Sana Canton Nermina Chemalovich said that the ministry receives a weekly report on the state of health from all reception centers in the region of this canton – Miral, Bira, Student House in Borich, Sedra and Vuchyak.
She said sick migrants flee the hospital as soon as they feel better, so their movements are left unattended. Cemalovic warns that these people are a huge danger to the local population.
She recalled that last year, a migrant suffering from AIDS raped a girl with developmental disabilities, who, fortunately, was not infected. That migrant most likely also escaped from the Sarajevo infection clinic.
