Thuringian elections: Official results

In Thuringia, the results of all constituencies were counted. According to the final results, the “Left” parties received 31% of the vote. AdG (Alternative for Germany) has increased its number of votes by almost 2 times.

In Thuringia, there are 3,017 constituencies. Thuringian Prime Minister of the “Left” Party Bodo Ramelov was able to slightly increase his result: his party won 31 percent of the vote and this is their best result in state elections in history. In the last election in Thuringia in 2014, they gained 28.2 percent.

In second place was AdG (Alternative for Germany) with 23.4% (in 2014 it was 10.6%).

They are followed by the CDU (Christian Democratic Union of Germany) with 21.8% (2014 – 33.5%).

The SPD (Social Democratic Party of Germany) is significantly behind. The current result is the worst in the history of the party: 8.2 percent (2014 – 12.4%).

The Greens (Union 90 / Greens) received 5.2% (2014 – 5.7%) and hardly got to the state parliament.

The FDP (Free Democratic Party) received 5% of the vote (2014 – 2.5%) and thus returned to the East German state parliament.
