Vandals desecrate a monument to soldiers liberators of Riga from Nazi invaders

Unknown people inscribed the words “occupiers” in Latvian on the monument.

The public relations department of the State Police of Latvia promised to find out all the circumstances of the incident.

The monument devoted to the liberating soldiers was erected in Riga in the 1980s. It was repeatedly desecrated, and in the late 1990s it was attempted to be blown up.

Earlier it was reported about the desecration of the monument to Marshal Konev in Prague. The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed its protest to the Czech authorities in this regard and demanded that the vandals be found and punished.
