Crisis unplanned by Plahotniuc took place in the Democratic Party of Moldova

The situation in the Democratic Party of Moldova got out of control of the fugitive oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc, who, although having resigned from his official powers as the leader of the political force, still remained its shadow leader.

This was told by the leader of “Our Party” Renato Usatii on the air of the “RTR-Moldova” TV channel, with reference to information at his disposal.

According to the opposition politician, an unplanned split occurred in the Democratic Party of Moldova. In this regard, Plahotniuc was even forced to delegate his faithful assistant Konstantin Botnari, who fled the country after his patron, to Moldova.

“He must appear in the nearest future”, – Usatyi said, emphasizing that in the Democratic Party “everything is not going according to the plan of Plahotniuc”, who wanted the political formation to be headed by Vladimir Chebotar. It is known that the party’s leader was the former Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip.

The Democratic Party of  Moldova itself has not yet commented on the disagreements.

As News Front previously reported, the Democratic Party of Moldova led by Plahotniuc refused to recognize the coalition between the Party of Socialists and the pro-Western bloc “ACUM”, which was formed as a result of the parliamentary elections.

In this regard, the Democratic Party of Moldova began to destabilize the country by launching mass protests. The situation was resolved with the support of Russia, the European Union and the United States, which forced the Democrats to recognize the new government. Since then, Plahotniuc is on the run. The day before, an arrest warrant was issued in Moldova.
