The candidate for mayor of Chisinau for years “did not receive a salary”, but bought a solid car

His wife’s salary and child benefits are the only income that the “modest” Moldovan politician Andrei Năstase indicated in his declaration for several years.

Considering the above facts, during the first round of debates on the ProTV Chişinău television channel, one of the leaders of the pro-Western ACUM block and candidate for the post of mayor of the Moldovan capital Andrei Nestas was asked a fair question: where did he get the money to buy a Volvo car worth 42 000 euros.

The politician was outraged by the question.

“Everyone is talking about my car, as if it was something extraordinary. When I was a lawyer, I had a good car, then I sold it, added money from the family budget to buy another car”, – Nastase said.

The debate took place in the framework of the Chisinau mayor’s election with the participation of the leader of the race, the representative of the Socialist Party, Ion Ceban, who was in second place Andrei Nastase, representing the ACUM bloc.

As News Front previously reported, according to the results of the first round, by choosing the Chisinau general mayor, Andrei Nastase received 31.09% of the vote, losing the leadership to Ion Ceban, who was supported by 40.16% of the capital’s inhabitants.
