Bundestag deputies called for the withdrawal of American troops from Germany

Deputies of the party “Left” called on the Federal government of Germany to cancel the Treaty on the stay of American armed forces in the country.

This is reported by RT.

German parliamentarians expressed the view that their presence is used to build tension in relations with Moscow.
“US troops in columns along roads and railroads are moving from one American base to another, moving closer to the western border of Russia”, –  they said.

Such relocations, the text says, “violate the spirit of the“ Final Settlement Treaty for Germany, ”also known as the“ 2 + 4 Treaty.

The party clarifies that 20 US nuclear bombs are deployed at Buchel airbase, which contradicts the peaceful requirements of the constitution.

Today, more than 35 thousand American soldiers are in Germany. In 2020 alone, the country will have to spend more than € 70 million on the presence of Americans and other groups.

Meanwhile, the Bundestag is dissatisfied with the presence of the American armed forces not only in Germany itself, but also in Poland and the Baltic countries.

“In addition, the deployment of troops on a rotational basis in Poland and the Baltic countries jeopardizes the Russia-NATO Founding Act, the latest still valid agreement between the West and Russia on the limitation of non-nuclear weapons”, –  the request emphasizes.

It was concluded in 1990 by the GDR, Germany, the USSR, France, great Britain and the United States. The document excludes the possibility of placing and deploying foreign troops and nuclear weapons on the territory of the former GDR.
