Russia has transferred the S-400 anti-aircraft systems division and the Pantsir self-propelled battery to Serbia. For the first time, they will take part in exercises on the territory of another state, Russian Defense Ministry noted.

Russian Air Defense units along with military equipment were delivered by military transport planes of the Russian Aerospace Forces to the territory of Serbia to participate in the second stage of the joint air defense exercises Slavic Shield-2019, TASS writes with reference to the military department.

Anti-aircraft systems will be deployed at the Bataynitsa airbase and will work out the detection, tracking, classification and destruction of the entire spectrum of aerial targets of a conditional enemy. Given the proximity of NATO airbases in Bulgaria, Bosnia, Hungary, Italy and Romania, the exercises should be very productive.
