In Berlin, anti-russian sanctions called a hindrance to the settlement of the conflict in the Donbass

Five years of experience have clearly demonstrated the fact that the policy of economic pressure on Russia has failed.

This statement was made by one of the leaders of the party “Alternative for Germany” Bernd Baumann.

According to him, anti-Russian sanctions caused not only “huge” losses for the German economy, but also become an obstacle to the settlement of the armed conflict in the Donbass.

“The European policy of restrictive measures against Russia has collapsed. It not only did not ensure the achievement of goals, but now it impedes the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict”, – the deputy said.

In addition, he emphasized that the sanctions run counter to the foreign policy interests of Germany, as they damage the country. In particular, he drew attention to the fact that during the senseless sanctions pressure Germany lost tens of thousands of jobs, and at the same time, a constructive dialogue with Russia, which is “now undermined”.

As News Front previously reported, representatives of four parties in the German parliament called for an easing of anti-Russian sanctions. In particular, it was proposed to take a step towards Russia in order to evaluate the response.
