Lawyers were not given a chance to prepare for Assange’s defense

Lawyers representing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in court have only recently been able to access documents related to the case, so they asked the judges to postpone the hearing for 3 months.

However, despite the complexity of the process, the Westminster court rejected the request of the defense and intends to hold the next meeting on the issue of extradition on November 18. Assange himself will participate via video link from Belmarsh prison.

As previously reported by News Front, today’s court hearing was accompanied by a protest rally of assange’s supporters demanding His release.

The founder of WikiLeaks hid for seven years at the Embassy of Ecuador in London. In April, Ecuador refused to grant him further asylum and extradited him to the British police. In May, a London court sentenced Assange to 50 weeks in prison for violating bail conditions.
