The demonstrative anti-Russian campaign launched in Georgia by Pro-Western forces failed, providing an opportunity for the country’s citizens to demonstrate the true wishes, which were not in favor of Russophobes.
According to the Georgian edition of the Agency News Front, Sunday, October 20, in the city of Akhaltskha in the South was followed by the presentation of public organization “Public diplomacy without borders”, which will work in the regions, promoting the interests of a large part of the population that is economically dependent on humanitarian, trade, tourism or other types of relations with the Russian Federation.
The organization will work through meetings and communication with the population of the regions, accumulating and analyzing public opinion. The initiative to create a public Association appeared in Akhaltsikhe.
As previously reported by News Front, last summer the opposition forces of Georgia launched a Russophobic campaign in the country. The reason for it was the fact that the Russian parliamentarian Sergei Gavrilov, who was elected Chairman of the inter-parliamentary Orthodox Assembly, was placed according to the Protocol in the chair of the speaker of the Parliament. There were riots in Tbilisi at that time. Radicals even tried to storm Parliament. In this regard, Russia was forced to suspend direct flights with Georgia, which led to significant losses of the Georgian tourism sector.
