Berlin expects to hear from the British Parliament, who on Saturday should vote on a new Brexit deal, a clear statement on the further development of events, as the time for “political maneuvering” is behind, said German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.
“The agreement between the EU and the UK is an important step towards an orderly Brexit. We hope that the British Parliament will recognize its responsibility, we need a clear statement on how things will go next. The time for political maneuvering has passed”, – said Maas, quoted by German Foreign Ministry on Twitter.
Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, said that negotiators from the European Union and Great Britain reached an agreement on the country’s withdrawal from the union (Brexit) before the summit of the EU heads of state. Juncker said on Twitter that the European Commission had approved the agreement; British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made it clear that he was also accepting it. On Saturday, the country’s Parliament is expected to vote on a new agreement.
