China hopes for a stable and streamlined Brexit process

China hopes that the process of Britain’s withdrawal from the EU will be stable and orderly, which serves the interests of both sides and the entire world community, Chinese foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at a briefing on Friday.

“We drew attention to the relevant statements by the UK and the EU about the positive development of the situation in their negotiations, and we hope that Brexit will be held in an orderly and stable manner that will serve the interests of all parties, including the UK and the EU, and will be favorable for global stability and development”, – said Geng Shuang.

Earlier, the head of the European Commission, Jean-Claude Juncker, said that negotiators from the European Union and Great Britain reached an agreement on the country’s withdrawal from the union before the summit of the EU heads of state. Juncker said on Twitter that the European Commission had approved the agreement.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson made it clear that he was also accepting it. On Saturday, the country’s parliament is expected to vote on a new agreement.
