More than 900 refugees returned to Syria in 24 hours

Over 900 refugees returned to Syria from Jordan and Lebanon over the past day, it follows from the newsletter of the refugee reception, distribution and accommodation center, published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“Over the past day, 948 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from the territories of foreign states, including 413 people from Lebanon through the Jaydet-Yabus, Tell-Kalah checkpoints (124 women, 210 children), and Jordan 535 people (161 women, 273 children) through the Nasib checkpoint”, – the statement said.

It is noted that three refugees returned to their places of permanent residence during the day.
It is added that the engineering units of the Syrian Armed Forces completed the tasks of clearing the terrain and facilities in El Harra, Jashim (province of Deraa) and the Duma (province of Damascus) in a day.

During the day, specialists cleared 2 hectares of territory, 35 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed.

The armed conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011. At the end of 2017, a victory was announced over the Islamic State terrorist group in Syria and Iraq. In some parts of the country,  militants are being cleansed. Political settlement, the restoration of Syria, and the return of refugees are at the forefront.
