Riots in Catalonia: police violently dispersed protesters

Thousands of people took to the streets of Barcelona to protest the verdicts imposed by the Supreme Court against leaders of the Catalan independence movement.

El Prat International Airport was the epicenter of clashes with the police. Special forces of the Spanish police used tear gas to disperse the protesters. Meanwhile, the terminals were blocked and passengers spent hours waiting for the terminal to be released. About a hundred flights were canceled during the day.
