Despite Russophobic policies and a commitment to close cooperation with Washington, the United Kingdom has five times increased its supply of liquefied natural gas from Russia.
This is evidenced by the Office of Enterprise, the energy and industrial strategy of the UK government.
According to the agency, the reason for this was the repair work. Having reduced energy supplies through the pipeline from 25.9 billion cubic meters to 18.5 billion, London began to compensate for them with LNG. At the same time, Russian gas is already showing the largest increase.
Despite the fact that Qatar remained the main supplier of LNG to Britain, providing 59% of the total gas volume, gas imports from the Russian Yamal LNG project were increased fivefold. Thus, London purchased 1.8 billion cubic meters of liquefied natural gas. It is noteworthy that the supply figures from the United States are more than 2 times lower and amount to only 700 million cubic meters.
