Over 950 refugees returned to Syria from Jordan and Lebanon over the past day, follows from the newsletter of the refugee reception, distribution and accommodation center, published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
“Over the past day, 951 refugees returned to the Syrian Arab Republic from foreign countries, including 367 people from Lebanon through the Jaydet-Yabus, Talkalakh checkpoints (110 women, 187 children), and Jordan 584 people (175 women, 298 children) through the Nasib checkpoint”, – the statement said.
It is noted that one refugee returned to the places of permanent residence within the country within 24 hours.
It is added that the engineering units of the Syrian Armed Forces completed the tasks of clearing the terrain and facilities in Al Harah, Jashim (province of Deraa) and the Duma (province of Damascus) in a day.
During the day, specialists cleared 2.3 hectares of territory, 38 explosive objects were discovered and destroyed.
The armed conflict in Syria has been ongoing since 2011.
At the end of 2017, victory was announced over the terrorist group “Islamic State” in Syria and Iraq. In some areas of the country, stripping from militants continues. At the moment, a political settlement, the restoration of Syria, and the return of refugees are in the forefront.
