U.S. President Donald Trump said China has begun implementing trade deals with the United States.
According to the head of the White House, the condition for the deal with China was the immediate purchase of large quantities of American agricultural products, “without waiting for the deal to be signed in three to four weeks”.
“CHINA HAS ALREADY BEGUN AGRICULTURAL PURCHASES FROM OUR GREAT PATRIOT FARMERS & RANCHERS!” – wrote President on his Twitter.
The US president promised to “complete the large-scale first phase of the transaction” and begin the second phase of negotiations.
Earlier, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce reported that the Chinese side has made significant progress with the United States in several areas after a new round of trade and economic negotiations. Trump, in turn, said that the United States and China had reached the “first substantive stage of agreement”.
The next round of trade negotiations between the US and China took place on Thursday and Friday. The most important decision of the White House based on their results was the achievement of an agreement to postpone the introduction of duties on October 15 on Chinese goods imported into the United States. Trump said the first part of the deal could be signed at the APEC summit in Chile. US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin said the deal covers issues related to intellectual property, financial services, and US $ 40-50 billion worth of agricultural purchases.
