In Belarus started the exercise of the CSTO scouts “Poisk-2019”

Special exercises of the intelligence units of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) countries “Search-2019” began in Belarus, told reporters at the Joint Headquarters of the CSTO on Monday.

“We pay special attention to the training system of the intelligence units of the armed forces of the CSTO member states in order to increase their interoperability in fulfilling the tasks of assigning collective security in the regions, developing and mastering new forms and methods of command and control of intelligence”, –  said the training at the opening ceremony Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, chief of the CSTO Joint Staff.

During the exercises, diverse tasks will be worked out involving almost all types of intelligence in the interests of localizing the border armed conflict in the East European region. The relocation of the military forces of the CSTO countries to designated areas will be carried out, including at night. Units will carry out military, special, electronic, engineering and artillery reconnaissance.

Military personnel of six states will also work on organizing ambushes, blocking illegal armed groups and liberating settlements.

Major-General Igor Korol, deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Belarus for combat control, manages the Search 2019 exercises, which will end on October 18. Maneuvers take place at the training grounds Obuz-Lesnovsky, Domanovsky, Chepelevo and Osipovichsky in Belarus. The exercises are attended by servicemen of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and the operational group of the CSTO Joint Staff. In total, about 2,000 military personnel and over 250 pieces of equipment, including aviation, are involved.

Special exercises with intelligence forces and means of the CSTO Search-2019 member states are held as part of the joint operational-strategic exercises Fighting Brotherhood-2019.
