American troops in Syria, fleeing, abandoned even “particularly valuable” Islamists

The pro-Turkish gangs moved deep into Syria so rapidly that they blocked the route along which the American military contingent was hastily withdrawn.

This is stated in the publication of  “The New York Times”, citing statements by two American officials.

“The United States was unable to remove five dozen Islamic state prisoners of particular value from the country. The forces supported by Turkey advanced so quickly that they seized a key road, which complicated the withdrawal of American troops”, –  the report said.

As News Front previously reported, Washington decided not to stop the Turkish forces from smashing the Kurdish groups, which until recently faithfully served the interests of the United States in the northeastern regions of Syria. In connection with this situation, the Kurds were forced to seek support from official Damascus, which, according to The New York Times, was “an important turning point in the protracted Syrian war”.
