Lukashenko supported Putin’s appeal to world leaders on INF

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he fully supports Moscow’s appeal to world leaders on a moratorium on the deployment of medium-range missiles in those regions where there will be no American missiles of this class, promised in this regard to send a response letter.

Earlier on Friday at a summit in Ashgabat, Russian President Vladimir Putin said he had not received an answer to his appeal to world leaders about a moratorium on the deployment of medium-range missiles. The Russian president believes that the States deliberately do not respond, and the US allies cannot answer without them.

“Vladimir Vladimirovich, here we absolutely support you. We will prepare and send you a response letter to your statement, which you sent around the world. We need to seriously pay attention to this. This is not only the problem of Russia, which is trying to somehow restore the status of quo and leave control over particularly dangerous weapons. We must not allow such missiles to appear in Europe”, – the Belarusian leader said during a meeting of the heads of CYU in Ashgabat.

On August 2, the INF Treaty expired. At the beginning of this year, Washington announced a unilateral withdrawal from this agreement, accusing Russia of its long-term violation. Moscow rejects all charges. In early July, Putin signed into law a suspension of the treaty. Russia has repeatedly stated that it fully complies with the INF Treaty. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that Moscow has very serious questions for Washington regarding the implementation of the treaty by the Americans themselves. According to him, the US allegations of violation of the INF Treaty are unfounded.
