Militiamen of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and the Ukrainian security forces will make another attempt to withdraw forces in the Petrovsky district in the Donbass on October 11, said the Head of the DPR representative’s office in the Joint Center for Monitoring and Coordinating the Ceasefire Ruslan Yakubov.
The withdrawal of forces in the Petrovsky area was to begin on Wednesday. The DPR People’s Police launched a flare as a sign of readiness to begin the process. However, no response was received from the Ukrainian security forces. In the DPR, they said that the Ukrainian security forces frustrated the schedule of the separation of forces agreed upon by the contact group. Donetsk noted that a new attempt to withdraw forces will be made on October 10. However, it was also unsuccessful.
“Tomorrow we will come here again and we will expect action from Ukraine. Tomorrow the deadline for the withdrawal of forces expires”, – Yakubov told the reporters on Thursday.
He noted that if the Ukrainian security forces frustrate the process of withdrawal of forces on Friday, this will be considered a violation of the schedule, and further actions by the parties will be discussed at the meeting in Minsk on October 15.
