Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) and the PRC State Council Information Office plan to sign a cooperation agreement on October 20, spokesman for Roskomnadzor Vadim Ampelonsky told reporters.
According to him, the close working contacts maintained by Roskomnadzor and Chinese colleagues over the past few years will be secured by a bilateral cooperation agreement. He said that the document has the status of an international treaty, and its signing is expected to take place at the site of the VI World Internet Congress in Wuzhen on October 20. At present, the Chinese side is approving the document.
The subject of the agreement is cooperation between Roskomnadzor and the State Chancellery of the People’s Republic of China on Internet information, primarily in the field of countering the dissemination of prohibited information.
