Activists of the environmental movement Extinction Rebellion on Wednesday blocked the Marshall Bridge in central Berlin.
The bridge over the Spree River in central Berlin is closed on Wednesday morning. About 150-200 people gathered on the bridge, activists talk about climate change, sing songs and just relax. A field kitchen was organized, on the parapets of the bridge were hanged banners “Act Now”, “Will you extinct with me?”
The event is peaceful, the police are on duty. Extinction Rebellion has been holding a series of actions in Berlin since October 7, in which they block traffic at various points in the city. As a rule, they are attended by no more than a few hundred people, most of whom join the activists after work in the evening. Activists held similar actions in September.
