American fighter crashed in Germany

Not far from Semmer (Germany), a United States Air Force F-16 fighter crashed during a training flight.

This was informed at the American air base Spangdahlem.

“The pilot safely ejected, he was picked up with minimal damage,” they said at the air base.

Firefighters work at the scene, a working group of American officers investigates the incident.

According to local media, the crash site near Zemmer was cordoned off, the plane crashed over the forest. Local residents are asked not to approach the crash site, several roads of the district are closed to traffic.

For several months, this is the second incident involving military aircraft in Germany: in June, two German Air Force Eurofighter fighters collided in the sky near Muritz. Then one of the pilots managed to eject, the other died.
