The Turkish army intends to create a safe zone and a peaceful corridor to ensure the security of the population of Syria.
The Turkish military completed preparations for an operation in northern Syria. This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defense on Twitter on Tuesday, October 8.
The military department noted the importance of creating a safe zone and a peaceful corridor to ensure the security of the Syrian population, as well as stability in the region.
“The General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces will never allow the creation of a terrorist corridor on our borders. Preparations for the operation are completed,” the statement said.
The day before, the media reported that Turkish aviation attacked the base of Kurds from the opposition Democratic forces of Syria in the Syrian province of Hasek. Aircraft during the day made intensive flights over the border area and in the evening attacked the headquarters of the Kurds.
It was previously reported that Turkey launched unilateral military operations in a “safe zone” in northeastern Syria.
Also on the eve, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that the United States began to withdraw troops from northeast Syria, where Turkey intends to conduct an operation to create a security zone.
