The Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) will file a lawsuit with the United Nations International Court of Justice in The Hague against the United States to recover Tehran’s damage from Washington’s withdrawal from a nuclear deal – the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan (JCPOA). About this, as reported by Fars, on Monday said Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on legal issues Laya Dzheonady.
According to her, the operators of various sectors of the Iranian economy were invited to assess the losses incurred from a unilateral act of the United States to draw up a lawsuit. The Iranian government intends to document its claims against the United States.
Earlier, Iran applied to the UN International Court with a motion to introduce provisional measures against the United States for the period of the proceedings between the two countries. On October 3, 2018, the UN International Court of Justice partially granted this motion. According to the verdict, Washington must remove any obstacles to the free export to the territory of Iran of medicines and medical devices, food and agricultural products, as well as spare parts, equipment and related services necessary for the safety of civil aviation.
