Pushkov called for an agreement with NATO on behavior in the Black and Baltic Seas

Russian senator Alexei Pushkov said that Russia and NATO should agree on “rules of conduct” in the Black and Baltic Seas.

“I think that at least it would be necessary to agree with NATO on the rules of conduct in these regions,” Pushkov said at the international conference “European Security: move away from the edge of the abyss” on Tuesday in Minsk.

He emphasized that if there are agreements with the American side on behavior in Syrian airspace, there are no reasons that could prevent an agreement on behavior in the Baltic and the Black Sea.

“We see that today plans are being developed to increase NATO’s presence in the Black Sea, active maneuvers are being carried out near Kaliningrad. This is a rather dangerous situation,” the politician said.
