Belarus initiates the development and adoption of a multilateral political declaration by the responsible countries on the non-deployment of medium- and shorter-range missiles in Europe. This was announced by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko at the international conference “European security: move away from the edge of the abyss”, BelTA reports.
In connection with the destruction of the Treaty on intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles, US and Russian concerns about security in the East European region are growing.
“Maybe it’s worth it to get together and discuss this, perhaps, the most urgent problem at the moment. If you want, perhaps in Minsk or elsewhere”, – Alexander Lukashenko suggested.
“Moreover, Belarus has already proposed to adopt a multilateral political declaration of the responsible countries on the non-deployment of medium and shorter-range missiles in Europe. We are ready to even initiate, or even take on the development of the text of this document”, – emphasized he.
