During his official visit to Georgia, President Frank-Walter Steinmeier of Germany commented on the Steinmeier formula agreed on October 1 by all members of the Donbass contact group.
“As for the Steimayer formula, it was agreed three years ago at the high summit level with the participation of the presidents of Ukraine, Russia, France and the German Chancellor … Maybe this is not so relevant, but the content remains the content,” he said.
Steinmeier’s formula involves granting Donbass a special status as part of the Ukrainian state.
On October 1, all the participants in the contact group for a settlement in eastern Ukraine agreed at the Steinmeier formula at a meeting in Minsk.
Later, Kiev published a letter approving the document. The United States and Great Britain welcomed this decision.
