Protests in front of the White House against Iraqi government

Iraqi protesters gathered in Washington in Lafayette Square in front of the White House to protest against the Iraqi government.

A wave of protest rallies swept through Iraq, mainly in Baghdad and Shiite-populated areas of the country. At least 20 people died, hundreds were injured during the dispersal of protesters by security forces.

The protests began three days ago and so far do not stop.

As far as one can judge, the demonstrators organize themselves, they have no leaders. They protest against the extremely high unemployment rate among young people, the poor quality of public services and the growth of corruption.
