Greece asks Frontex to help with migrant growth

Hellenic Coast Guard sent a second request within three weeks for additional assistance from the EU border agency Frontex to cope with the recent surge in migration flows to the eastern Aegean islands, the Greek daily “Kathimerini” reports.

The Turkish coast guard stops five to seven refugee boats in its waters every day, while the Greek guard responds to about 30 incidents every day, the newspaper reported.
