The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, said that Moscow would be guided by the position of Donald Trump, who declared his readiness to improve bilateral relations.
“How this will affect Russian-American relations, I will not guess. The president determines the policy in the United States; he has repeatedly spoken out for the normalization of trade, economic, humanitarian, and general political relations between our countries, and for building up interaction in the international arena. We heard these statements, we welcome them, ” – Lavrov said.
The diplomat emphasized that Trump had already proven this statement at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Osaka. However, the problem remains that those who are obliged to fulfill the will of the American leader do not translate his principles into practical actions.
