Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov discussed with his counterpart from China, Fu Tsun, arms control and non-proliferation issues with an emphasis on the situation around the Iranian nuclear program, the Russian foreign ministry said in a statement.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, Ryabkov’s meeting with the director of the arms control department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Fu Tsun, took place on September 10.
“An exchange of views took place on a number of topical issues in the field of arms control and non-proliferation, with special emphasis on the situation around the Iranian nuclear program. A high degree of coincidence of approaches between the two countries was confirmed. Mutual interest was expressed in continuing a constructive dialogue,” – the ministry said in a statement.
Iran previously announced the country’s third measures to reduce obligations under a nuclear deal in retaliation for the United States withdrawing from the agreement more than a year ago and, as Tehran says, lack of commitment to the agreement of European parties to the deal.
From September 6, Tehran decided not to associate itself with the restrictions stipulated by the nuclear deal regarding research and development in the field of nuclear technology. Tehran reported that they are using a number of centrifuges outside the provisions of the nuclear agreement.
