The helicopter flew from the Korotchaevo microdistrict of the city of Novy Urengoy, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug to the village of Dudinka, Krasnoyarsk Territory, on August 11, but did not arrive at its destination. The search and rescue operations carried out then did not bring positive results and were suspended. On September 4, the Department of Civil Protection and Fire Safety of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District announced the resumption of searches.
According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, the flight was made without coordination with the established air transport authorities, the exact flight route is unknown. There were three people on board the aircraft.
