The American protege Juan Guaido, who at the beginning of the year proclaimed himself the “president” of Venezuela, has to decide on the position regarding the disputed territory near the Essexibo River.

This statement was made by the President of the Bolivarian Republic, Nicolas Maduro.
According to his words, this is a condition for the resumption of negotiations between the government and the opposition. Maduro emphasized that he had already ordered the Minister of Communications and Information of the country, Jorge Rodriguez, to transmit this information to Juan Guaidó so that he would “make an unambiguous statement as soon as possible regarding Essexibo”.
The territory  has been the subject of a dispute between Venezuela and Guyana since the nineteenth century. At the same time, in Caracas, they fear that Guaido might betray the interests of the republic by abandoning the region in favor of a neighboring country. In this regard, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Venezuela has already initiated criminal proceedings against the impostor.
As News Front previously reported, the American henchman Juan Guaido declared himself “president” of the country at the time of demonstration protests that unfolded in Venezuela earlier this year. Since then, he has tried to arrange a coup d’etat several times, but failed.
