UN: you need to cooperate with Turkey to solve the refugee problem

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, said: “The role that Turkey  which has been the largest refugee reception center on the planet for 5 years, has taken, is very important. We welcome Turkey’s declarations of its determination to take all measures to protect refugees. ”

According to Turkish news agency Anadolu Ajansı, Filippo Grandi said: “As the armed clashes continue, the refugee problem remains. In order to put an end to it, a political decision is needed. However, this requires cooperation and mutual assistance of the international community, including with Turkey. ”

The UN spokesman added: “We welcome Turkey’s chairmanship at the global refugee forum in Geneva. Refugee problems affect areas much wider than those directly related to them. It is impossible to cope with them alone. Together with real action, a common vision and determination of all countries are needed. We will work to achieve this goal at the forum, . ”
