Hong Kong has a new wave of protests – radicals smash shopping centers

One more attempt by Hong Kong protestors  to сapture the airport in order to block its work was unsuccessful due to the efforts of the authorities and law enforcement authorities, so the radicals found a new goal.

According to the publication The South China Morning Post on Saturday, September 7, protesters began to storm shopping centers and railway stations owned by MTR Corporation, the operator of the local railway system.

Protests lasts for fourteen weeks. Even the recent statement by Hong Kong Mayor Kerry Lam, which stated that the extradition bill, which was initially opposed by the protesters, helped.
Since then the list of protesters’ requirements has expanded. Moreover, the latest actions were carried out under increasingly absurd pretexts. For example, last week the radicals smashed subway stations due to poor quality of service. Even earlier, they demolished “smart” lampposts that collect information about road traffic and the level of air pollution. The fact is that the protesters considered them as a system of total surveillance by the authorities.
