Two humanitarian workers killed in Ethiopia

Two employees of the international non-governmental organization Action against Hunger were killed in an attack by an armed group in Ethiopia, according to a release posted on the organization’s website.

“Action Against Hunger confirms that two of our employees were killed in the Gambel region of Ethiopia,” the report said. As noted, the incident occurred on Thursday morning.

According to the organization, its employees were ambushed by an armed group of people and were “killed on the spot”. As a result of the incident, Action Against Hunger announced the suspension of work in the Gambela region.

“We are cooperating with the authorities (Ethiopia), which are investigating the attack,” the organization said.
