Japan expects further deepening of exchanges with the Russian Federation in various fields, in connection with the fact that next year was declared the year of inter-regional exchanges between the two countries. This was announced on Thursday by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe before a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
“Next year we will have a year of inter-regional exchanges. We want to strengthen exchanges with the Russian Federation in various fields”, – he said. According to Abe, during the meeting he expects to discuss with Putin a peace treaty, bilateral relations and international problems.
The Japanese prime minister also thanked the Russian president for his assistance in hosting the G20 summit in June this year.
The Fifth Eastern Economic Forum takes place in Vladivostok on September 4-6. The organizer is the Roscongress Foundation.
