Joshua Wong, a 22-year-old guy who became the face of protests in Hong Kong, decided to turn to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and ask for support.

 He compares the situation in Hong Kong with events in the GDR.
“Chancellor Merkel, you grew up in the GDR and you understand  the horrors of a dictatorial government,” – the activist said.
He compared the protests in Hong Kong with the peaceful demonstrations that took place in Germany in 1989.
