The militants of the Islamic State terrorist organization performed a demonstrative attack on units of the Syrian Arab army in the province of Deraa in the south of the Republic.
As News Front previously reported, the active phase of cleansing the region from terrorist groups ended last summer during a large-scale military operation. Then the main forces of the jihadists were defeated, and the remnants of the militants were sent to the Idlib de-escalation zone, after which the activity of the Islamists in the province of Deraa was not observed.
However, an attack on a patrol of government troops took place on the road between the settlements of El Khraq and Isra. The terrorists blew up a makeshift explosive device, and then opened fire on the military. As a result of the incident, at least three soldiers were injured, one was killed.
In less than an hour, the militants of the Islamic state claimed responsibility for the attack.
