Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that the Turkish authorities may purchase additional S-400 air defense systems from Russia.
According to him, this can happen if Turkey is not able to acquire Patriot air defense systems from the USA.
“Today we need more systems until we can produce our own. And if we can buy from the USA, then we will buy Patriot. If not, then we will buy another S-400. We are an independent country”, – the statement said.
Earlier, CNN, citing a representative of the US Department of State, reported that Washington officially revoked its proposal to Ankara to sell Patriot instead of S-400. Turkey later commented on this data.
