Almost six million tourists visited Crimea by the beginning of autumn

By the beginning of autumn, 5.8 million tourists visited the Crimea, which is 11% more than in the first eight months of 2018, the head of the region Sergey Aksenov said.

“Out of the calendar summer, but not the holiday season in the Crimea The number of tourists visiting our region this year, is already close to 6 million: 5.8 million as of September 1. This is 11% more than last year”, – Aksenov wrote on his page on the social network.

In 2018, 6.8 million tourists rested in the Crimea. The tourist flow to the region in 2017 amounted to 5.2 million people. In 2016, 5.57 million tourists rested in the Crimea, in 2015, 4.6 million tourists visited the peninsula, and in 2014 – 3.8 million tourists. Previously, the Crimean authorities predicted that the tourist flow to the peninsula in 2019 could exceed 7 million tourists.
