The King of Spain who underwent heart surgery was discharged from the hospital

King of Spain Juan Carlos, who underwent heart surgery, was discharged from the hospital, according to the ABC publication.

Juan Carlos, father of the current head of state, King Felipe VI, had the heart surgery on August 24 in a clinic in the city of Pozuelo de Alarcon (province of Madrid). The king suffered a triple coronary bypass surgery.
“The condition of the 81-year-old king is assessed as stable, he is recovering”,  – doctors say. He is expected to leave the hospital in the coming hours.
In May, the Royal House announced that Juan Carlos would no longer perform public duties assigned to him as a member of the royal family on June 2. He decided not to participate in public events five years after he abdicated the throne voluntarily on June 2, 2014 in favor of his son.
Juan Carlos I ruled Spain for 39 years. The dictator Francisco Franco appointed him heir to the Spanish throne in 1969, but the king took the throne after Franco’s death in November 1975. After the abdication, 81- year -old Juan Carlos, continues to bear the title of king.
